We are finally here! Put your hands in the air and wave them like you just don’t care, its HBCU Homecoming Season y’all. One of the most exciting times of the year for me is the beginning of the HBCU Fall Football and Band Season. There is nothing to be compared to an HBCU experience. It was one of the absolute best times of my life and when I worked for a couple institutions the experience was priceless. No matter how hectic my schedules becomes, I clear my calendar to attend a couple of Classics and Homecomings to not miss. I love to watch the Bands strut into the stadium in sync, high stepping in only one way HBCU Bands make their grand entrance. Plus, you can’t forget the rhythmic motion and bursting smiles of the beautiful female dancers that keep my eyes glued paying no attention to the game (Opps).
My favorite HBCU Bands to watch every year is Jackson State University, Bethune Cookman University, Tennessee State University, Southern University to name a few.
Here is a taste of the Magna Cum Laude of all Bands, aka the Sonic Boom of the South, Jackson State University in Jackson, MS.
